Happy New Year! The turning of the new year signals the official end of the holiday season. Beginning January 1 at 12:01AM during any given year, all the Christmas decorations start looking old to me. I begin to get the urge to start putting all my seasonal items in boxes in order to reclaim some of my space.
I always marvel at the holiday season and what it does to my crazy brain.
I hardly go to any parties, I don't have many gifts to wrap, and I never entertain. I have no flurry of activity to which I have to attend.
Still, on January 2, as I sit at my desk, I have one crucial question that requires an immediate answer: Are there any of those cookies left? You know...the ones with the sprinkles?
I look at all the piles of paper on my desk and wonder what happened to all the pre-holiday projects I found important only days prior. Many of these projects were must do issues which had actual deadlines. You know, the projects I had found to be of utmost importance "back then." Unfortunately, I can't remember why anymore.
Things will work themselves out. Just give it a few days.
